What's Happening...

NEWSLETTER....
BOARD NEWS...The board met on Saturday, March 5th. Discussion was heald regarding membership, updating the club brochure, and the Texas Hold em Tournament. The board voted to donate $300 to the FBLA club at Hallsville High School for their work at last fall's Haunted Shed.
TREASURER...Current checking balance is $5,738. The building fund balance is $15,743. Questions about the club's finances should be directed to Ted Bogucki or any club officer or board member.
YOUTH BASKETBALL...The 5th and 6th grad basketball tournaments have been completed. The club netted approximately $2,900 from both tournaments. Thanks to everyone that pitched in and helped, and big thanks to Danny Hardin for his coordination efforts!
FUNDRAISING...Our next fundraiser will be a Texas Hold 'em Tournament. It will be held Saturday, March 19th at the Hallsville Community Center. Starting time will be 12 noon. Buy in a $30 and refreshments will be served throughout the day. The tournament will last 7-8 hours, and a lot of volunteers are needed. Kyle George and Mike Grigery are chairing this event. Sign-up sheets for workers and participants are circulating at Saturday morning meetings. You can also sign up to play by contacting Kyle George, Mike Grigery, Eric Parsons, or Monte Beatty.
MEMBERSHIP...Welcome to new member Sharon Parsons. Sharon and her husband, Eric (who is also a member) live in Hallsville with their two daughters. They are involved with Hallsville Little League and other community activities. Sharon and Eric will be added to Breakfast Team 8 along with Alan and Brenda Mahoney, Barb Corwin, and Trevorr Ray.
AWARDS...On Saturday, February 26th, Regional Lt. Governor Don Salcedo presented the club with three patches for the club banner. The club received a Year Bar which represents the first time each year a club donates $10 or more per member. The club also received a Benefactor patch for Life-to-Date total of $1,000 or more. We also received a $20 tab.
DUES...Dues are coming due. Please be prepared to pay club dues the first of April.
UPCOMING SPEAKERS...Sara Crane from the Imagination Library will speak to the club on Saturday, March 12th. Susan Daly will speak to the club on Saturday, March 26th about the upcoming Bond Issue. Please mark your calendars to hear these very important presentations.
CLUB APPAREL...The club will be ordering hats, shirts, and pullovers soon. If you are interested in any of these items, you can place your order with Melinda Netemeyer.
