What Happened...
Highlights from a meeting prior to the implementation of our webpages.
Frances Benton, Parents As Teachers Coordinator for the Boone County RIV school district gave a presentation to the Hallsville Optimists on what Parents as Teachers is. Frances shared information about their funding and their mission. Frances had visited with many of the Optimists and their families throughout the years. Below is a picture of Frances in action. She is working with Taylor Alexander who will be starting kindergarten in the Fall of 2002. Representatives from D-D Farm-Animal Sanctuary and Rescue presented us with information about their organization and it's mission. It is a nonprofit tax exempt organization that rescues and rehabilitates all wildlife, large domestics and equines. The "star" of the meeting was a young tiger name Zeus.
