Topic for 2016-2017: What the World Gains from Optimism.



Who: Students under the age of 18 at of October 1, 2016

How To Enter: Interested students must submit a 4-5 minute speech on the pre-assigned topic.

When: Application is Due February 24, 2017

The Optimist Oratorical Contest gives youngsters the chance to speak to the world. More than $150,000 in college scholarships funded by the Optimist International Foundations is awarded annually from this program.

The 1st place Hallsville winner will receive a educational scholarship. The winner will continue to advance to Regional and District contests. The top winner of the District Oratorical contest will receive a scholarship. Winners have an opportunity to win up to $22,500 in multiple scholarships.

When: Application is Due February 16, 2017
